Description

CaixaForum Lleida is a cultural space open to all citizens, with a regular program of exhibitions, conferences, debates, screenings, concerts and educational activities. Conceived as a center for all audiences, it encourages integration, dialogue, knowledge and education.

CaixaForum Lleida occupies the modernist building of the old Viñes cinema, the work of the architect Francesc de Paula Morera Gatell, located in the historic center of the city. Initially, the building was conceived as a performance hall, then under the name of Teatro Viñes, but later, between 1928 and 1978, it became one of the city's historic movie theaters. On December 19, 1989, it became the ”la Caixa” Foundation Cultural Center and in 2008, the CaixaForum Lleida.
