Laura is a sixty-five-year-old trans woman who left the cabaret and nightlife scene when she was at the height of her fame to look after her mother. Twenty years later, she now wants to return to work. She feels her age, looks back on the past with a sense of nostalgia and is full of self-doubt, but when she sees her friends still working after all these years, something tells her it’s never too late. Marga, Vicenta, Flor, Ana and Zully accompany Laura on this journey, which is also a stroll down the streets of Barcelona’s Raval district and through the memories of a community that endures with humour and pride.

What is Zinegoak?

Zinegoak is an LGBTQ+ film and performing arts festival that takes place in June in Bilbao. Films are screened that showcase the sexual, gender identity, and family diversity of the different LGBTQ+ realities.
