Program
Cantània is the spectacular annual concert featuring middle and upper-primary school pupils from all over Catalonia, the Balearic Islands and the Valencian Community. Every year, L’Auditori premières a work created by renowned Catalan composers and playwrights in Sala 1, where 35,000 children from more than 1,000 different schools sing in one of the 10 collaborating cultural venues in Catalonia.
In 2026, the 37th edition of the project will present Cantània: The Last Clock, composed by Jordi Cornudella with dramatization by Tina Vallès.
The clock seller arrives in a town called “Later” and meets Enigma, a mysterious character. She has been selling clocks all her life, and now she only has one left, but how will she sell it when nobody in this town seems to care about time?
Enigma, who has all the time in the world, listens as the clock seller tells her about all the town’s she’s visited, each with its own unique character… And as she tells her story, Enigma gradually reveals herself, showing her chin, mouth, cheeks, ears and nose.
But the clock seller feels more and more tired. And she still has one clock left to sell. Soon, all will be revealed. Her eyes will close, and she will fall into a deep sleep. At long last, she will learn why she is there and what makes her happy.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION: The session on June 3 at 11:30 a.m. will include sign language interpreting.
