Programme
A recent work by Helena Cánovas -a world première- is to open a concert full of charm. The Catalan composer, who has already been programmed at the L’Auditori in the past, is now offering a piece as part of the participatory project “Canta amb l’OBC”.
It will be followed by an interpretation of one of the most popular violin concertos of the classical repertoire -by virtuoso Kristine Balanas-, composed by Felix Mendelssohn in 1844. A highly regarded work for its expansive character, for the exquisite union of melodies that, without losing sight of the classical balance, point directly to the listener’s heart.
A dive into a late view of Romanticism with Anton Bruckner’s Symphony No 3. A characteristically monumental score, dedicated to Wagner and later revised -as is often the case- by the composer, in which sound masses full of energy alternate with a subtlety that seems to captivate spirituality.
