The outbreak of war in Syria in 2011 prevented clarinetist Kinan Azmeh from returning home, setting him on an introspective journey into the transformative power of art. His music —spanning classical, jazz, and world music— explores the many layers of identity in exile and intertwines with personal milestones, such as becoming a father. Kinan and other exiled artists reimagine and set to music the narrative of contemporary Syria in an elegant and captivating ode to memories and to love that endures despite the losses and wounds inflicted by war. This is the third installment in Frank Scheffer’s tetralogy on the disappearance of cultural traditions.

Cast: Kinan Azmeh, Dima Orsho, Ibrahim Keivo, Charles Neidich, Bashar Azmeh, Layale Chaker, Kevork Mourad, Dinuk Wijeratne, Issam Rafea, Yo-Yo Ma, Liwaa Yazji, Mohammad Abou Laban.
