We present the new Campanya 2022/23

Dedicated to homeless people

In order to combat its invisibility, raise awareness in society and create more inclusive cultural spaces, this year Close to Culture focuses on the phenomenon of homelessness under the lemma #Homelessness

The situation in which homeless people live remains unknown to the majority of the population. They are invisible and their rights are violated every day. Living on the street or being in a situation of homelessness is not a decision, but precisely the absence of an alternative due to systemic or structural circumstances. It is necessary to make visible and raise awareness about homelessness: it is the way to build a fairer and more co-responsible society.

For this reason, Close to Culture dedicates the 2022/23 season to people in a situation of homelessness with the certainty that culture is key to establishing links, generating sustainable relationships and opening up new possibilities, as well as creating community. With the complicity of the cultural promoters who are members of the Close to Culture network and social entities, work will be done against the stigma, discrimination and exclusion of homelessness and with the aim of making these people visible and guaranteeing their access to culture, which is a fundamental right that has a significant impact on the process of recovering the personal life project and social relations.

We invite you to follow all the activities of the campaign and learn more about the situation of these people and what we can do from the culture.
