Omar Rajeh, choreographer and dancer, is one of the leading figures in the contemporary dance scene in Lebanon and the Arab world. He founded Maqamat in Beirut in 2002. In December 2019, he moved to France and established his company in the city of Lyon.
Alone on stage, Rajeh dances and speaks of an intimate past that no longer exists, of an image that fades and also deceives. A past that was not transferred to the future, but stopped. The images, the meanings, the feelings, the people, the happy moments, everything was frozen. As if today he was dealing with a World without a past. As if today’s story did not fit with the past images of his life.
